Igor Rodríguez Calderón M.Phil., Directing Coordinator
Igor founded Lingüísmo in 2014 to expand access to political participation by historically excluded groups in the Americas from the perspective of Linguistic Rights. Igor received an MA in Latin American Studies at the University of California–Berkeley and then really became a language nerd as a doctoral student of Linguistic Anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center. Today, Igor works with organizations and communities engaged in human rights, justice, democracy, and the environment as a consultant and interpretation coordinator.
Patricia Isaura De La Cruz, Native and Indigenous Languages Coordinator
Patricia is from the State of Guerrero, Mexico. She is a native speaker of the Amuzgo language as well as a speaker, activist, and organizer in the areas of human rights, political representation, gender violence, and cultural practice. Patricia is an active member of the Organization of Interpreters and Promoters of Indigenous Languages (OTIGLI), the National Council of Indigenous Women in Mexico, and the Afro-descendent Women’s Network of the City of Mexico.
